India women's highest T20I totals in an innings
India Women set a record Women's T20 World Cup total of 209/5 at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds on Wednesday, producing their most dominant batting display in an ICC tournament to date. The innings was built around a 115-run opening partnership and finished by a blistering late assault from two of India's most destructive white-ball batters.
This is the fourth time India Women have crossed the 200-run mark in T20I cricket, with all four instances arriving in just over two years. The Netherlands women are appearing at a Women's T20 World Cup for the first time and faced the full force of a team in the richest batting form of their history.
India came into Match 10 on the back of a dominant 64-run win over Pakistan in their opening group fixture, where Mandhana hit 68 and Deepti Sharma claimed 5/10 in a statement performance. The batting continued in that vein at Headingley as India took their Group 1 campaign to two wins from two outings.

India Cross 200 Against Netherlands at Headingley
Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana gave India a platform no top-order opening stand in this year's tournament had yet matched, racing to 115 before either was dismissed. The real late push came from Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma, who added crucial finishing runs to push India beyond the 200-mark in the closing overs.
The total of 209/5 surpasses India's previous highest World Cup score of 194/5 against New Zealand at Providence in November 2018, when Harmanpreet Kaur smashed 103 off 51 balls. That record stood for eight years before being broken on a Leeds evening against tournament debutants.

India Women's Highest T20I Totals: Top 5 listed
Wednesday's 209/5 is India Women's third-highest T20I total, behind their all-time record of 217/4 against the West Indies in Navi Mumbai in December 2024 and their 210/5 against England in Nottingham in June 2025. Four of India Women's top six highest T20I scores have now come in 2024 or later.

India Women's Four 200-Plus T20I Totals
India's first 200-plus total in Women's T20I cricket came at the Women's Asia Cup in 2024 against the UAE, followed by their all-time record 217/4 against the West Indies in Navi Mumbai six months later, when Richa Ghosh smashed 54 off 21 balls and Mandhana contributed 77.

A bilateral T20I against England in Nottingham in June 2025 produced 210/5 before today's 209/5 at Headingley completed a four-member club built entirely within a 24-month window.
The Netherlands were set a target of 210 and found themselves at 83/3 after 12 overs in their reply, with Shafali Verma picking up a key wicket.
India's bowlers looked well placed to seal a victory that would put Harmanpreet Kaur's side in a strong position to qualify for the Women's T20 World Cup semi-finals.
