India's tour of New Zealand will get underway in Christchurch on October 22 with the first T20I, and the city will also host the second and final Test of the series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to X on Wednesday (June 3) to announce the schedule for India’s upcoming all-format tour of New Zealand. The Indian men’s cricket team will travel to New Zealand in the final quarter of 2026 for a series comprising five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches.

The tour will begin with a five-match T20I series, with the opening game scheduled in Christchurch on October 22. The remaining matches will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch (October 24), Henry Stadium in Wellington (October 27), Eden Park in Auckland (October 30), and Seddon Park in Hamilton (November 1).

The ODI series will get underway at Eden Park in Auckland on November 4. The second ODI will be played at Henry Stadium in Wellington on November 7, followed by the third match in Hamilton on November 10. The final two ODIs are scheduled to take place at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on November 13 and 15.

Following the conclusion of the white-ball leg, India will play two Test matches as part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. The first Test will be held at Basin Reserve in Wellington from November 19 to 23, while the second Test is scheduled at Hagley Oval in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1.

India tour of New Zealand

India last toured New Zealand for a Test series in 2020 and most recently faced them in a Test series at home in October-November 2023. On that occasion, India, led by Rohit Sharma, suffered a 3-0 series defeat against Tom Latham’s New Zealand side.

Series results for India vs New Zealand in Tests (in New Zealand)

India have won only two Test series in New Zealand so far. Their first series victory came in 1968 under Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi’s captaincy (India won 3-1), while the second was achieved in 2009 when MS Dhoni guided India to a 1-0 win in the three-match series.
